Position: Sales Manager

Location: Nairobi

Our client, a successful supplier of office furniture and equipment and rated among the 100 most successful SMEs in Kenya is looking for a Sales Manager.

The ideal candidate should have strong sales management skills and proven leadership skills.

He/she will identify business opportunities and undertake a number of critical initiatives to support overall business strategy.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Generating and qualifying leads
  • Preparing sales action plans and strategies that will lead to business development
  • Coaching, training and mentoring the sales team
  • Developing, managing and enriching relations with clients and business partners
  • Monitoring competitors, market conditions and ways of product development
  • Providing overall leadership of the sales team
  • Developing sales proposals and introduction letters
  • Identifying and defining market opportunities and problems and make sales in identified markets
  • Building market position of the company by locating, developing, defining, negotiating and closing business relationships with clients
  • Overseeing delivery of 100% sales target through effective planning and maintaining of good customer relationships
  • Coordinating all the sales activities towards the achievement of the set sales targets
  • Developing trendsetting ideas which will help in positioning the company as the supplier leader
  • Preparation of big tenders and prequalification
  • Coordinating the day to day execution and implementation of sales strategies and action plans
  • Updating and advising the directors on sales status of the business on regular basis
  • Setting performance targets for the sales team for delivering sales targets
  • Monitoring overall sales performance, visitations, potential/prospect clients and KPI

Qualification and Experience
  • Diploma in Sales and Marketing or Business related studies from a reputable institution
  • Over 5 years working experience in Sales
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Ability to solve urgent matters and work under pressure
  • Excellent Customer Service skills
  • Good interpersonal and team working skills
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to make business development reports
