Health and
Hygiene Promotion Project Manager

Key Responsibility Areas:
- Ensure the quality of construction of all health and hygiene promotion materials and delivery of promotion
- Conduct regular monitoring and evaluation assessments against project objectives in conjunction with the M&E personnel.
- Support the WASH and Health Advisors, Projects Coordinator, and Deputy Country Director and the County Director in the development of new proposals.
- Support Medair’s WASH and Health Sectors by recommending improvements and enhancements to the technical sector in the Medair Quality Standards, SOPs and sector policies.
- Develop and/or revise Medair South Sudan HHP guidelines and methodology, develop quality resource materials and guidelines, in line with latest international health promotion recommendations.
- Planning expenditure of budgets in an appropriate and timely way.
- Manage logistics needs within the HHP team and coordinate with the logistics team in order to ensure all project related equipment and material are available on site in a timely fashion.
- Work with the Base Support Manager in maintaining an accurate record of all assets and stocks for the HHP project.
- Provide or organise training and coaching to all HHP staff so as to ensure ownership and full local responsibility of all HHP activities.
- Oversee all HHP project staff including appraisals management, development & training in conjunction with the WASH and Health Advisors, spiritual, physical and mental well-being, job descriptions and work schedules.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of activities according to Medair guidelines.
- Give timely input, as requested, for donor and coordination bodies’ reports.
- Develop and maintain a transparent, honest and supportive communication structure with the team members as well as with other Medair staff so as to uphold a spirit of unity and mutual respect.
- Contribute to the marketing needs of Head Quarters by supplying relevant stories and potential web updates.
- Promote and use Medair South Sudan SOPs and guidelines, ensuring the standardised formats are used and guidelines followed.
Experience and Competencies
- Degree in Public Health, Nursing or relevant field
- 2 years experience in similar field, 1 year experience in staff management
- IT proficiency especially in Microsoft Office programmes and using software to design IEC visual materials
- Good interpersonal skills, team player and highly adaptive in different cultures
- Strong skills in training, community mobilisation and capacity building
- Strong working knowledge of spoken and written English language
- Good planning and organisation skills
- Ability to write proposals and reports
