Internal Auditor Job in Athi River, Kenya

Savannah Cement is the newest cement company in the Kenyan market having completed a state - of - the - art Greenfield Cement Grinding Plant in Athi River, Kenya.

The plant employs the latest cement technology in the market to produce 1.5 million tonnes of the various cement products per annum for the Kenyan and regional market.

Savannah Cement is seeking to recruit highly motivated, dynamic and innovative result oriented professionals, seeking a thrilling and fulfilling experience, to join the company in the following position:

Senior Internal Auditor

Reporting to the Internal Audit Manager, you will support the Internal Audit Manager in providing an independent evaluation of internal controls, risk management, value for money and legal compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Development of risk analysis, audit strategies and audit programmes and with the periodic review of the audit plan.
  • Compiling and maintaining an Internal Audit Manual for Savannah Cement limited.
  • Review of audit working papers and reports including supervision.
  • Generating audit summaries for the Internal Audit Manager, the Senior Management Team and the Board Audit Committee; and
  • Representing the Internal Audit function in meetings.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience
  • Basic University Degree
  • CPA (K)/ACCA Finalist
  • CISA & CIA — not a must but added advantage
  • At least 4 years audit experience — experience in big 4 added advantage.
  • Strong report writing skills.
  • Supervisory and leadership skills and experience.
  • Logical, systematic and analytical thinking.
  • Ability to design and give presentations targeted at Senior Management and at Board level.
  • Willingness to travel to Savannah Cement out of town depots.
  • High integrity, strong communication and interpersonal skills; and
  • Computer proficiency skills with excellent organization and planning skills.
