The Kenya
Institute of Supplies Management is a Membership organisation established under
the Supplies Practitioners Management Act, 2007.
A Council
composed of procurement and supply chain management professionals manages the
Institute. The Institute draws membership from the Private, Public,
Non-Government Organizations, Development Sectors and other sectors.
The Council
manages the Institute through a Secretariat, headed by the CEO.
To fulfil
its mandate, the institute is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the
position of Chief
Executive Officer.
Reporting
to the Council, the Chief Executive Officer will be responsible for the
leadership and management of the KISM Secretariat with the primary objective of
upholding professional standards in procurement and supply chain management in
the Private, Public, and other sectors in Kenya.
The key accountabilities will
include:
- To provide Team leadership, guidance and supervision of the Secretariat of the Institute to enable them deliver against the Council’s objectives
- To articulate policies of the Council and ensure appropriate strategies are developed and implemented.
- To ensure that appropriate management and administrative systems and procedures are put in place for monitoring and enhancing performance.
- To source for adequate funding and ensure its proper allocation in the realization of the organizational goals and objectives of the Institute.
- To advise the Council on policy matters relating to the management and growth of the Institute.
- To ensure that the organisation is member focused in the efficient and effective delivery of service.
- To ensure compliance with statutory requirements and any agreed protocols.
- To establish and maintain relationships with other collaborative agencies, stakeholders and members.
- To develop and maintain a positive image of the organisation both locally and internationally.
The ideal candidate should be a
seasoned management professional who meets the following requirements:
- A Kenyan citizen.
- A minimum of Bachelors Degree in a business related field. A Masters Degree is an added advantage.
- Professional qualifications in procurement and supply chain management from reputable institution.
- A registered full member of the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management.
- Proven record of professional integrity, visionary leadership, development and motivation of personnel
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven record of networking with multiplicity of local and international stakeholders.
- At least ten (10) years demonstrable work experience, three (3) of which must be at middle or senior management positions with substantial Supply Chain Management experience.
An
attractive remuneration package commensurate with this position will be
