Position: Warehouse & Dispatch Manager

General Summary

Warehouse Manager is responsible for managing and directing all aspects of the Warehouse operations of Manufacturing Organization with 24 X7 Operations . 

Essential Accountabilities / Job Description

  • Leads and directs the departmental team members to ensure the Loading, Dispatch & Warehouse operations are efficient and shipments are accurate and on-time. 
  • Establish warehouse guidelines and procedures and ensure these are followed and enforced consistently among all shifts.  
  • Provides daily, weekly and monthly performance measurements to executive management.
  • Oversee management of Warehouse areas.  Responsible for leading team in identifying and resolving specific items that negatively impact shipment, storage, delivery, labeling, handling and inventory. 
  • Lead and support cross-functional activities and focus groups in improvement activities such as evaluating optimum storage locations based on product output, deliveries, and size, etc… 
  • Report monthly Key Performance Indicators for all products.
  • Responsible for departmental performance including evaluating and recommending ideas to reduce cost and improve efficiency.
  • Review current and future packaging issues and improvement opportunities related to it.
  • Promotes safety standards of Warehouse operations.
  • Have strong communication, administrative and organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple shifts.
  • Advise management on required areas of improvement to enhance Warehouse processes.
  • Ensure all relevant records are properly maintained and traceable.
  • Maintain regular stock takes.
  • Mentoring staff in warehouse management best practice
  • Coordinating with the Transport  Manager/sales manager on deliveries to  preferred destinations of goods

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 – 10 years’ experience in management of Warehouse & Inventory
  • Bachelors Degree in business, economics or other Social Science or related discipline, coupled  with post graduate diploma in stores/procurement
  • Professional qualifications in Warehouse/Logistics/Supply Chain will be a key requirement added advantage.
  • Expert knowledge in Warehouse/Inventory and Logistics
  • Experience with large scale warehouse or Logistics management in manufacturing company.
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills
  • Strong initiative and solid judgment skills
  • High level of Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications.
