The Nairobi
Regional Office (NRO) supports RTI International growth and success in the
Africa region by providing functional expertise and solutions.
We seek to
recruit a qualified candidate for the Regional IT Specialist role.
This
position will ensure that all Information Technology systems are functioning
and maintained according to RTI policies and regulations, donor requirements
and good business practice. In addition, he/she will provide technical support
to all NRO staff as well as projects in the region.
The
Regional IT Specialist will provide support of PCs (Windows 7/ Microsoft Office
2010 ), Windows 2008 server installations, network infrastructure maintenance,
research, field testing, training and deployment of innovative technology,
specifically; custom developed Android applications (Tangerine\Papaya), its
hardware and connectivity.
He / She
will also provide detailed feedback to development teams working remotely, with
a demonstrated appreciation of the local context in which the projects operate.
He /She
will be responsible for the project office network administration, including
back-up and day to day troubleshooting as well as maintain regular contact with
field staff on IT related issues whilst having a good understanding of field IT
challenges.
Qualifications
Minimum
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology with six ( 6) years’ of relevant
work experience with Regional Support for IT in Africa and General IT market
awareness in the region.
Discreet in
the judgment and management of confidential information, sophisticated IT
equipment/materials, and sensitive data.
Must hold;
Cisco certification and Microsoft (MCITP), ITIL/Prince Certification and
relevant training in project management.
