Head, Finance (Co-operative Bank of South Sudan)
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Managing Director, Co-operative Bank of South Sudan, the role holder will be responsible for providing financial advice and support to the Bank , collection and preparation of accounts, cost management and budgetary controls.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Liaise with the
Managing Director and the Board to prepare and implement the financial
strategy
- Manage and
support the financial planning and budgeting process for the Bank and the
business units
- Liquidity
planning and the setting of fund transfer pricing and allocation of
cost/revenues across different units
- Management
information and reporting through the establishment of transparent and
clear management reporting system. Suggestion of measures for performance
improvement.
- Provide ALCO
with reports so as to facilitate efficient and effective resource
utilization
- Accounting and
external Financial Reporting. Preparation of financial results for communication
to relevant external parties.
- Carries out the
Asset – Liability management functions
- Oversee and
coordinate statutory reporting and audits by Central Bank, Revenue
Authorities and any other financial services regulators
- Manage the
Bank’s property and supplies function including procurement
- Ensure all
internal and external financial regulations are well complied with
- Ensure all
statutory and regulatory reports are correct and submitted in a timely
manner as well as with various government bodies, on all tax, accounting
and reporting requirements
- Liaise with
external auditors and consultants regarding accounting issues
- Periodically
evaluate the various performance measurement processes and suggest any
improvements
- Proactively
consider business’ revenue potential, identify any variance and recommend
remedial action
- Prepare monthly
cost reports and understand causes of variances against envisaged project
benefits and propose remedial actions
- Ensure ROI for
all assets/ investment categories are properly defined and enhanced to
drive returns for capital investments
- In-depth
analysis of key drivers of costs and identify strategies to manage costs
Minimum
Requirements:
- University
Degree preferably in a business related field and a CPA (K)/ACCA or
equivalent accounting qualifications. Having a post graduate and /Banking
qualification will be an added advantage from a recognized university.
- ACCA
finalist or CPA (K)
- MBA/CFA will be
an added advantage
- Over 7 years
relevant working experience in a financial institution, of which 3 yrs
must have been at management level. Those with prior working
experience in South Sudan will have an added advantage
- Proven track
record of strong financial reporting for inter-companies and consolidated
accounts
- Registered member
of a recognized professional body(s)
