NGO Jobs in Kenya - Chemonics International

Chemonics International, a U.S. based international development consulting firm, seeks a chief of party and other experienced professionals for the anticipated USAID-funded Integrated Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene Program in Kenya (KIWASH). 

The program aims to strengthen water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) services and water resource institutions and improve access to those services. 

It will also include work in integration of WASH and nutrition services and financing/credit for services. 

Ultimately the project will lead to at-scale adoption of sustainable models of WASH service delivery. 

We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people all around the world.

Chief of party
  • Master’s degree in international development, water/sanitation engineering, public health, business administration, economics, or related field of study required
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a senior leadership position managing WASH-focused programs or working in health, environment and natural resources management, policy and financing, preferably in Kenya
  • Success in project leadership, management oversight, and technical direction
  • Strong communication skills and proven ability to work collaboratively with senior Kenyan  government officials, donor organizations, and other key stakeholders
Deputy chief of party
  • Master’s degree in international development, public health, business administration, water and sanitation engineering, natural resources management, or related field of study required
  • Minimum five years of progressively responsible work experience in WASH-focused programs
  • Success implementing and managing programs in the WASH sector including public-private partnerships, water resource management, and health
Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist
  • Master’s degree in monitoring and evaluation, epidemiology, statistics, research methods, or other closely related discipline required
  • Minimum five years of WASH program evaluation and performance measurement experience
  • Familiarity with USAID WASH indicators and reporting requirements
  • Success establishing indicators and monitoring, evaluating, and reporting systems
Finance and Administration Manager
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or other relevant field and a professional accounting qualification required
  • Minimum five years of financial management/administration experience for large international projects, including U.S. government projects
  • Minimum three years of experience in management of subgrants and subcontracts

For all positions, candidates must be fluent in English. Experience working in the WASH sector preferred.
