Conservation Manager
To be based in Nairobi, Kenya
The major duties of this position will include but not limited to:
- ensuring that
the WWF Kenya Conservation Strategy is developed and evolves in line with
Kenya conservation requirements;
provides advice and collaboration as appropriate to WWF programmes; - promotes the
vision and objectives of the WWF Kenya Conservation Strategy to external
and WWF stakeholders, and leading building strategic
partnerships/fundraising.
The
applicant must possess at least a Master’s degree in an appropriate field
(conservation, environment, natural resource management, marine, forest,
freshwater, terrestrial ecology).
Additional academic training or a degree in a management field would be a strong asset;proven track record in successfully developing, leading, and managing conservation programme, natural resource management and/or other related fields.
At
least 7 years professional experience in a programme management role, 3 years
of which should be in the Eastern/Southern Africa region (preferably Kenya),
with demonstrated success in managing multi-disciplinary teams.
