Security Manager

A well established multinational company with operations within the East Africa region has an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled & resourceful candidate to fill the above position.

Main purpose

Developing monitoring and evaluating the company security strategies, policies and procedures, and leading in their implementation, to ensure safety of company assets and human resources through stakeholder management including third parties.

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring safe custody of all company assets by monitoring and controlling movement of vehicles, people and goods onto and off company premises, including the company’s subsidiary premises, country offices, branches, and retail centres
  • Leading and managing investigations of all reported incidents, including fraud and advice management on corrective action
  • Leading and managing contracted third party security service providers to meet the company’s requirement
  • Ensuring that the company representation in court on security matters is adhered to and appropriate report to management is made
  • Ensuring compliance of company security and safety measures including carrying out spot checks
  • Leading security surveys on new outlets/projects, conducting security audits, and reviewing security measures on existing outlets/projects to ensure appropriate measures
  • Ensuring induction and training of third party security staff in line with the company policies and guidelines
  • Leading in provision of security information and awareness and leading in best practices
  • Leading and managing fire fighting training in all company premises
  • Ensuring installation and maintenance of security systems and equipment
Qualifications
  • A University degree from a recognized institution
  • Advanced training on security management will be an added advantage
  • Minimum of five year’s practical experience in security management
  • Demonstrable work experience in security planning, organizing and executing security operations.
  • Experience in undertaking investigations
  • Ability to work in a multicultural setting
  • Ability to work under pressure and strict timelines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
