Process Specialist

Summary   

Our client, a subsidiary of a leading multinational is involved in large scale tea production with a commitment to sustainable agricultural practices and environmental care.

Reporting to the Company Chief Engineer, you will partner with factory managers to provide engineering support to process improvements in innovations, process design & development and manufacturing automation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement process control and automation improvements in manufacturing sites
  • Implement best operating practices in the operations across all units.
  • Carry out engineering audit of the manufacturing processes for compliance with set standards
  • Develop and implement action plans geared toward improvements in the production processes
  • Trouble-shoot manufacturing challenges and lead implementation of agreed solutions in liaison with line and unit managers.
  • Draw up and implement commissioning activities for new and changed processes in manufacturing.
  • In liaison with the Process/Projects Manager draw up engineering contracts and ensure their full compliance to the required quality and safety standards.
  • Develop and implement improvements in the manufacturing processes to improve product quality
  • Inspect and assess processes to monitor compliance with safety codes and other regulations
  • Implement standard operating procedures and specific work instructions for new processes in liaison with the line and unit managers.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Process/Production/Chemical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum Two (2) years experience in food manufacturing and processing, with significant automated process control (Experience in Tea manufacturing industry will be an added advantage).
  • Good administration and demonstrated people management skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in AUTOCAD
