Postdoctoral Positions Available

The KEMRI-Wellcome Trust Programme is an internationally renowned health research Programme that is committed to carrying out high quality research on health issues affecting Kenya and Africa in general and to building research capacity in the East African Region. 

Several early and mid-level postdoctoral positions are available in the areas listed below. 

These positions offer an opportunity to work with experienced scientists in a highly dynamic research environment. 

In addition, the positions are aimed at providing support and mentorship for the holders to develop applications for grants to support their future research work.

Early postdoctoral positions
  • Immunology
  • Molecular biology of parasites
  • Mathematical modelling of disease epidemiology
  • Malnutrition
  • Health systems and economics
  • Social Sciences
Mid-level postdoctoral positions
  • Malnutrition
  • Entomology
  • Health systems
  • Mathematical modeling of disease epidemiology
  • Immunology
The positions are open to East Africans for two years non-renewable. However, during this period the position holder is expected to develop and submit applications for further external competitive funding. 

If funding is awarded the holder’s contract will be extended to the end of the awarded grant period.
 
 Early postdoctoral positions are open to applicants who completed their PhD training in any of the relevant disciplines since Jan 2012.

Mid-level postdoctoral positions are open to applicants who have between two and four years of postdoctoral experience and a strong publication record
