I.T. Financial Analyst, I.T. Division

The Position

Reporting to the Head, Program Management Office, I.T. Financial Analyst will be a member of the business services technology financial team, providing financial support to the I.T. Division

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare review and distribute monthly financial reports to the CIO & IT Heads.
  • Prepare and review IT product & service cost and pricing models.
  • Track expenses and revenues vs. budget and reforecast and analyze fluctuations.
  • Prepare monthly consolidation and executive financial package.
  • Coordinate financials questions/answers among subsidiaries and IT Heads.
  • Prepare annual financial information binder to be provided to the internal auditors.
  • Prepare quarterly operating reports.
  • Assist in the budget & reforecast process.
  • Maintain budget and reforecast information in the accounting system.
  • Evaluate profit and cost efficiencies in various areas of the IT organization as needed.
  • Develop, maintain and distribute ad-hoc reports and financial models as needed.
The Person
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics required Minimum of 3 years’ experience in reporting, consolidation and financial analysis.
  • Experience in IT consulting and outsourcing
  • Experience in Asset Based financing & lease buy-back a plus
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel & Access)

Unix Administrators, I.T. Division

Job Ref I.T 06/2013

The Position

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Banking Systems Operations, the role will ensure the system health and optimization of the core banking system infrastructure

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer the T24 HP/UX Unix servers and the High availability clustering solution and ensure system availability within the required RTO (Recovery time Objective) and RPO ( Recovery Point Objective )
  • Installation, configuration and upgrading of T24 application environments as and when required.
  • Perform T24 application tuning and performance monitoring
  • Coordinate extraction of business/MIS reports and ensure distribution to relevant 3rd party systems such as Data warehouse in addition to availing the same to respective business units
  • Administer the T24 data storage and clustering infrastructure and formulating disk space management policies
  • T24 application tuning and performance monitoring.
  • Upgrades, patch release implementation and software development into the production environment.
  • Provide T24 test environments on request to various departments in the bank.
  • Troubleshoot, escalate and follow up resolution of errors warnings generated by the T24 Unix servers, T24 application, NetApp disk storage and the backup system .
  • Coordinate with the T24 operators in resolving T24 operational and COB related issues
The Person
  • A Bachelor’s degree in ICT or related field from a recognized university is required. An MBA will be an added advantage
  • Must possess certification in Unix administration
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of and high regard for T24 as a business delivery channel for both bank corporate and retail customers.

Documents Manager – Corporate

The Position

Reporting to the Legal Documentation Manager the job’s purpose is to provide legal support and solutions to the Corporate Business teams while working with external lawyers to adopt and implement best practices

Key roles and responsibilities
  • Preparation and issuance of quality credit documentation, specifically facility offer letters and other internal documentation in line with the approved credit application, credit policies and procedures, prudential guidelines and other relevant legislation within agreed TAT(Turn Around Time)
  • Ensure the quality of securities held by the Bank in respect of corporate facilities given. This includes issuance of proper instructions for preparation and registration of external security documents, follow up for documentation and review after registration and before disbursement of facilities.
  • Preparation, issuance and vetting of undertakings relating to corporate facilities and securities.
  • Preparation and issuance of Certificate of Compliance upon security perfection to facilitate disbursement of facilities.
  • Maintain suitable system to track deferred securities and compliance documents for facilities availed before full compliance in respect of corporate accounts and ensuring follow up and closure.
  • Maintain accurate registers capture required data in the documentation reports.
  • Tracking of Service Level Agreements with different departments and service providers to ensure quality service and ensure that management and departmental reports and any other reports required are prepared and handed in within set deadlines.
  • Providing high quality legal and operational support and Consistency in adherence to and effective application of established policies, processes, procedures and tools in achieving optimal efficiency and cost containment.
  • Research and provision of quality credit legal advice relating to contracting, facilities structuring and lending generally in liaison external legal counsel where necessary.
  • Act as a contact for Corporate Relationship Managers, other relevant units and external lawyers.
  • Training of business teams and analysts on the legal requirements and thresholds as regards credit documentation.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Law degree from a reputable learning institution
  • Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with a current practicing license
  • 3 years post admission experience
  • 3 years’ experience in handling general legal matters in a reputable institution/legal firm
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years practical experience in credit documentation
  • Must have excellent facilities drafting skills
  • Must have good knowledge of all bank’s products on offer for retail customers
  • Must have the ability to prioritize work and deliver high quality output within tight deadlines
  • Must have attention to detail
  • Must have ability to thrive under work pressure
  • Must have high follow through ability

Head, Islamic Banking

The Position

The overall purpose of this role is to establish and manage the KCB Bank Group’s Islamic unit to enable the Bank attain market leadership position in Islamic Banking within the region in line with the Bank’s overall strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of KCB’s Islamic Banking unit business plan including development of strategies, client segmentation, marketing plans and execution criteria.
  • Initiate and ensure establishment of a reputable Shari’ah Advisory Board (SAB) to assist in advisory/compliance certificates on Islamic Banking products.
  • Generation of revenues for Retail Banking division from debt capital market transactions.
  • Drive the business into lead arranger role for debt capital markets deals across the region.
  • Drive the expansion of the Corporate finance/Islamic Banking business by identifying and developing new areas of growth.
  • Development of financing structures that are responsive to customers’ needs.
  • Ensure Marketing of Islamic Banking products to existing and prospective clients.
  • Cross selling of the Islamic Banking products and services to sustain long term profitability from each relationship.
  • Build strong strategic relationships in the private sectors and to position KCB as a trusted advisor to customers.
  • Develop effective risk mitigation strategies whilst ensuring compliance to the Banks Policies, and Operations Procedures, taking into consideration sharia'a principles.
  • Manage all media placements of Islamic Banking products in compliance with Shari’ah Advisory Board.
  • Train, coach and develop a high functioning Islamic Banking team able to offer customers a broad range of quality Islamic Banking services including but not limited to debt, equity, project finance, M&A advisory and brokerage services.
The Person

For the above position, the successful applicants should have the following minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelors’ degree in a Finance, Business, Islamic Banking or Economics related field. A postgraduate degree and/or qualification such as Masters of Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent will be an added advantage. § Minimum 8 years management experience in progressive positions with specific expertise in product development, marketing and sales of Islamic Banking products and services with proven success results.
  • Experience in Structured and/or corporate finance or financing syndications in a dynamic financial institution or in management consulting.
  • Proven ability to pursue and secure corporate finance transactions in the corporate sectors
  • Experience in execution of financing capital market transactions including selection of target clients, book building, negotiation of documentation and closing arrangements
  • Proven people, leadership, communication and negotiation skills § Excellent client relationship management.
  • Strong analytical and economic research skills
  • Experience in leading and managing teams in an Islamic Banking environment
  • Sound knowledge of local legal ,tax, regulatory rules in the Capital markets area
  • Ability to demonstrate extensive client networks
