Corporate Affairs Lead, Africa
 
Profile Brief:
 
Located in Kenya, the incumbent will be responsible for building stakeholder support and a policy environment that protects and expands Monsanto’s business opportunities, in close cooperation with the Monsanto functions.
 
The incumbent will be responsible for:-
  • Leading government affairs, political strategy and outreach to support a business-enabling environment through, developing and maintaining strong networks with government officials and contribute to corporate strategy.
  • Understand key policy issues affecting business growth in various African countries.
  • Lead Industry Affairs strategy.
  • Lead Public Affairs strategy and outreach and drive proactive communications.
  • Manage and leverage partnerships and Monsanto Fund contributions.
Applicants should have:-
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communication or Biological Sciences
  • Post-graduate qualifications preferred
  • Several years of experience in the Agricultural space in Africa with a position that enabled frequent contact with the government officials and other stakeholders
  • Demonstrated excellence in strategic thinking and ability to build coalitions toward common goals
  • Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to inspire trust and build networks with diverse individuals and organizations
  • Self-starter who is Vision and Results oriented.
  • Relationships and networks.
  • Diplomacy skills: Ability to represent the company with full integrity; excels through difficult issues and situations.
  • Agility and foresight:
  • Willingness to travel extensively regionally and internationally (50% of time)
