Job purpose

Management, development and delivery of capacity building programs for professionals

Core Functions

  • Development of training concepts and programs
  • Development of proposals under the customized training function
  • Managing and participating in delivery of consultancies and training programs
  • Support marketing of in-house training programs
  • Contribute to the development of the KISM Certification Program
  • Perform tasks related to above core functions as required
  • Oversee and support marketing, and delivery of in-house certification programs
Qualifications, Experience and Competencies
  • Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in education or business related field
  • Diploma in purchasing and supply management;
  • A registered member of the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management
  • Minimum 3 years experience in training;
  • Experience in design of skills training programs
  • Ability to work with and manage teams
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
Procurement Officer

Job purpose:  

Source, manage procurement of goods and services for the institute in compliance with requisite legislations and procedures.

Core Functions
  • Procurement planning
  • Prepare procurement and tendering documentation and ensure compliance to procurement laws and procedures
  • Provide secretarial services to procurement committees
  • Coordinate the procurement processes
  • Manage the institutions internal supply chain
  • Liaison with internal and external clients
  • Manage suppliers relationships and databases
  • Performs such other duties as may be required
Qualifications, Experience and Competencies
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement; or Bachelors in business related discipline and a reputable Diploma in Procurement;
  • Membership of the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management;
  • Knowledge of public procurement laws and regulations;
  • Good report writing and document management skills;
  • Ability to coordinate and work well with others, sharing workloads, and work independently
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) with all levels of internal and external customers in a professional manner
  • 2 years of relevant working Experience.
Finance Assistant

Job purpose: 

To support the finance and accounting function, ensuring continuity and integrity of operations
The Kenya Institute of Supplies Management invites suitably qualified individuals to apply for the following positions

Core Functions
  • Preparation of cheque and cash payment vouchers, taking them for authority to pay and issuing out cheques;
  • Handling all daily payment transactions and keeping petty cash float;
  • Maintenance of capital (asset) items inventory;
  • Handling the payments of statutory and other payroll deductions and filing annual returns to the relevant government bodies;
  • Liaising with relevant departments to raise invoices and manage the accounts receivables
  • Assist in the handling all Insurance matters as relates to assets
  • Support Finance Officer in management as directed
Qualifications, Experience and Competencies
  • Minimum of a CPA – II;
  • Bachelor of Commerce degree will be an added advantage;
  • Minimum 1 year experience in similar position;
  • Ability to coordinate and work well with others, sharing workloads, and work independently;
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) with all levels of internal and external customers in a professional manner.
