The Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya (ICPSK) is the professional organization for Certified Public Secretaries.

The Institute is established under the Certified Public Secretaries Act, Cap 534 of 1988 and dedicated to the promotion, growth, development and regulation of the governance and corporate secretarial profession in Kenya. 

The Institute is governed by a Council comprising eleven members. 

The Institute wishes to recruit a visionary, dynamic and innovative person to fill the position of Chief Executive Officer/Secretary and invites suitably qualified candidates to apply.
 
Duties and responsibilities
 
Reporting to the Council, the key responsibilities of the Chief Executive Officer/Secretary include:
  • Providing leadership to staff in undertaking the day to day services of the Institute.
  • Developing and recommending the strategy, business plans and budget to the Council.
  • Ensuring effective stakeholder management.
  • Implementing of the Strategic Plan, polices and programs of the Institute.
  • Fostering a corporate culture that supports and promotes good governance and ethical practice.
  • Being the principal spokesperson of the Institute.
  • Representing the Institute in external fora.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations.
  • Prudent resource management.
  • Staff recruitment, retention and motivation.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Relevant Bachelors Degree from a recognized University.
  • Masters Degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized University.
  • Holder of the Certified Public Secretaries (CPS) qualification.
  • Member of the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya (ICPSK) in good standing.
Skills and Experience
 
Applicants should uphold high professional and ethical standards. 

In addition, applicants should demonstrate the following experience and competencies:
  • Seven (7) years experience at senior management level.
  • Demonstrable leadership skills.
  • Integrity and honesty.
  • Team Player.
  • Passion for good governance.
  • Meets the requirements of Chapter six of the Constitution.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
