Branch Manager

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the overall performance and activities of the branch and participates in making decisions.
  • Ensure effective control environment with focus on compliance of Prudential and other regulatory instructions with no procedural slippages
  • Making sure targets are met, coaching and developing staff, keeping the office to a high standard of discipline and integrity and dealing with customer complaints
  • Review and analyze performance information and reports, which are then given and shared with loan officers
  • Spearhead Promotion of  products and services in the branch
  • Monitoring of disbursed loans - Delinquency management
  • Assuring long term relationship through high client satisfaction, reaching a high ration of revolving clients – Customer care
  • Maintaining quality portfolio in the branch by ensuring recruitment of viable Entrepreneurs.
  • Carrying out proper vetting and assessment of loans application for credit committee approvals.
  • Initiate and maintain good relationship between capital and local stakeholders
  • Performing other duties as may be deemed necessary by the management.
Qualifications and Skills Required
  • University Degree preferably in a Business related field.
  • Having post graduate and / or Banking qualification will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in commercial banking covering Corporate, Retail and Mortgage business with at least 3 years in a senior or management position.
  • Good overall appreciation and knowledge of the Banking Industry, latest market trends as well as challenges.
  • Track record of success and delivery of business results.
  • Excellent Cross-Cultural People Management skills, Team Motivation and Leadership Competence.
  • A good understanding of Bankin9 Law and Practice as well as Corporate Governance Principles.
  • Sound IT proficiency.
  • An appreciation of Risk Management and Knowledge of internal controls.
  • Strong networking and interpersonal skills with proven people, leadership, communication and negotiation skills
  • Proactive and customer-focused.
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational skills.
