Sales Associate Job in Githunguri Kenya


Our client is a rapidly growing renewable energy company in Nairobi providing biogas systems to small farmers in rural Kenya.

Building on two years of market research and installation experience, they have developed a new business model and technology that will bring the many benefits of biogas energy to the masses in Kenya by eliminating the main hurdle to its adoption – the high upfront cost.

They are currently looking for a Sales Associate


This is a rare opportunity to be part of a rapidly growing company developing and trialing a new technology and an innovative business model to bring energy to the millions at the base of the pyramid in Kenya
 
What would you do?

The role will include:
  • Visiting potential clients and explaining the benefits of biogas, the advantages of the new model Biogas offers and explaining how it would benefit them
  • Leading presentations explaining the benefits of biogas and the advantages of the new model  Biogas offers to meetings at clients’ houses, dairy cooperatives and other gatherings of farmers
  • Following up with potential clients who have expressed interest to convince them to buy the system
  • Following up with existing clients to monitor gas consumption and client satisfaction
  • Liaising with the companies Biogas office and installation teams to keep them up to date on installations and sales performance
  • Collecting information on sales performance and providing input to the Biogas management team on the effectiveness of alternative sales approaches
  • Providing input on new approaches to selling the biogas systems
  • Be the first point of contact for clients in the field (in person and by telephone)
Who are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will:
  • Be energetic and enthusiastic when communicating with clients
  • Be trustworthy
  • Have experience in selling products and / or services to small farmers in rural Kenya
  • Have good organisational skills
  • Be willing to travel in rural areas around Githunguri by motorbike and on foot
  • Be fluent in Swahili, Kikuyu and English
  • Must Live in Githunguri
  • Be eager and able to work independently
  • Have a working understanding of renewable energy
  • Have a desire to work in a small, entrepreneurial organization
