Nuru International Kenya (Nuru Kenya) is a
non-governmental organization registered in Kenya. We are a social enterprise,
which means that revenues generated from our businesses are used to fund
charitable programmes. Our operations currently are concentrated in Kuria West
District, Migori County, Nyanza Province.
We are also looking at expanding into additional
agricultural commodities and a dairy unit. These businesses altogether are
expected to generate an annual turnover of over 100 million Kenyan Shillings in
2013, and continue to grow rapidly.
Our charitable activities cover agriculture, community
economic development, education, and health.
We focus on assistance to rural farmers and their
families.
We are looking to fill the position of Social
Enterprises Business Development Analyst who will research and present
recommendations to expand current businesses and launch new operations.

The Social Enterprises Business Development Analyst is
both an office and a field-level position, responsible for building networks
and processes to support ongoing Business Development efforts and managing
specific research, development, and strategic projects under the supervision of
the SE Business Development Manager.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Research
and develop opportunities for business growth and profit maximization
Stay
informed regarding best practices related to current and potential business
units
Manage
business and product development staff
Manage
contracted enumerators and data analysts as needed
Manage
and build database of business development projects
Conduct
market and industry research
Conduct
value chain analysis
Build
networks of industry partners, experts, and other players across the value
chain to
facilitate
long-term information-gathering and decision-making
Undertake
other research, reporting and management duties as assigned
The job requires a commitment of 40 hours per week,
Monday through Friday, as well as weekends and/ or evenings as necessary.

Job Description:
The Social Enterprises Portfolio
Manager (SE PM) is both an office and a field-level position, responsible for
managing all aspects of the organization’s income-generation activities under
the supervision of the SE Programme Advisor.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Management and coordination of the
organization’s business activities
Business development and analysis
Supervision and training of SE
staff (currently 20 personnel)
Market research and feasibility
studies for new and expanding business operations
Securing external financing for
business operations
Financial modeling and forecasting
Routinely conducting business
analysis to ensure that Nuru SE can meet its programme goals
Creating and maintaining the budget
for Nuru SE
Creating and maintaining the work
plan (annual and monthly) for Nuru SE
Building and maintaining a
relationship with key external stakeholders, including the National Cereal and
Produce Board and large-scale buyers and suppliers
Representing Nuru Kenya / SE to the
general public and government
Collection and analysis of business
performance baselines and all relevant data
Reporting of all business-related
data to senior management
