Background
Save the Children has supported children in Kenya since before
its Independence in 1963 and has had a consistent operational presence in the
country since 1984.
Save the Children has an operational presence in Dadaab Refugee
Camp, Eldoret, Habaswein, Mandera, Meru and Wajir and has a liaison post in
Garissa. Currently, we have a staff complement of approximately 370 staff and a
confirmed budget of approximately US$15 million this year.
Save the Children wishes to announce the launch of its 2013
Internship Programme, a one year programme whose aim is to provide learning
opportunities to young graduates and thereby create a pool of employable
persons for short term and long term development related careers.
Interested applicants are required to submit a brief cover letter and CV indicating how they meet the requisite criteria below:-

Criteria for eligibility
- Applicants
must be Kenyan nationals who must be willing to commit to this one year
programme
- Must
have graduated in the past 8 months from a reputable university/college
accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education
- Applicants
must have degrees and/or diplomas courses in the following areas: -
Health, Food Security and Livelihoods; Nutrition; Education; Child
Protection; Child Rights Governance; Water, Sanitation, Hygiene Promotion,
Finance, Logistics, Human Resources.
- Applicants
must be between the age of 22 years – 27 years
- Applicants
must be local residents who reside in the area of the internship
opportunity
Location
This internship programme has a limited number of opportunities
(Two - 2) per area office and successful Interns will be located within Save
the Children programme area offices in Wajir, Meru, Dadaab, and Mandera.
This internship programme does not provide any salary or benefits but provides a small monthly stipend.
