Programme Development & Grants Manager – Kenya
Danish Refugee Council (DRC) has been providing relief and development services in the Horn of Africa since 1997.
We are inviting applications for the position of Programme
Development & Grants Manager DRC – Kenya.
Based in Nairobi with occasional travel to all project areas,
the incumbent will take a lead role in development of new programmes and provide
managerial oversight of all the grants.
Compliance and Grants Management
- Lead
in project planning and facilitation of programme kick-offworkshops for
all new projects.
- Plan
and execute quarterly and annual review sessions and oversee
implementation of corrective measures.
- Liaise
with programme managers to ensure proper budget management and donor
compliance.
- Ensure
programme reports are prepared and submitted on schedule.
- Responsible
for quality control of all DRC Kenya projects and proper management of
sub-grantees.
- Facilitate
development of appropriate monitoring and evaluation systems for all
programmes.
- Manage
the online DRC Grants Management System (GMS) in liaison with the regional
grants manager
Strategic Programme Development
- Lead
in development and refinement of the Country Strategic Programme Documents
- Support
programme managers in developing proposals for new programmes.
- Ensure
cross-cutting themes e.g. gender; age, gender & diversity (AGD);
protection etc are main streamed in all programmes.
- Represent
the organization in strategic meetings with donors and other partners
Programme Management
- Provide
managerial leadership for the implementation of a USAID funded project on
conflict management in Northern Kenya
Qualifications, Experience & Skills Required:
- Advanced
degree in social sciences.
- 5
years’ experience in programme management
- Demonstrated
experience in programme development and management of grants from diverse
donors.
- Proven
analytical, writing and advocacy skills
- Extensive
experience managing budgets and financial processes including audits.
- Excellent
inter-personal skills with diverse audiences.
- Excellent
communication skills;
- Experience
working with several donors including ECHO, USAID, UNHCR, DFID &
DANIDA highly desirable.
