Head of Procurement
Our client, a leading professional cleaning and allied service
Company is seeking to recruit a focused, self driven professional with high
integrity to fill the position of Head of Procurement.
Job Purpose/Summary
The Procurement Manager will be responsible for planning and buying materials, parts, supplies and equipment in a timely and cost effective way.
The job holder will be responsible for developing procurement
strategies, policies and procedures and ensuring that all the negotiated
contracts are reflective to the company objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop
and implement procurement strategies, procedures and policies
- Forecast
procurement needs for all the key business areas
- Continuously
develop expertise to support growth for new projects
- Build
and develop relationships with key suppliers and customers
- Lead
and manage the procurement group in all phases
- Responsible
for planning, developing and buying materials, parts, supplies and
equipments in a timely and cost effective way
- Maintain
appropriate procurement quality standards and specifications at all times
- Responsible
for identification of suppliers through supplier vetting, negotiating and
documenting agreements with suppliers
- Develop
and maintain computerized procurement systems
- Approve
purchase orders, ensure proper consummation of all purchases, agreements
and contracts relating to procurement of goods and services
- Recommend
and establish procurement strategy and procedures consistent with the
company policies
- Develop
and implement cost containment programs to reduce cost of materials and
services
- Ensure
appropriate authorizations and documentation are obtained for procurement
activities and capital expenditure requests
- Responsible
for departmental budgeting, implementation and monitoring.
- Review
and submission of monthly, quarterly and annual management reports on a
timely basis as is required
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelors
degree in a business related field from a recognized institution
- A
master’s degree in a relevant field is an added advantage
- Diploma
in purchasing and supplies management from a recognized institution
preferably from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supplies
- A
member of a professional body (KISM or CIPS)
- Must
have 5 years credible experience in a busy procurement environment; with 2
years of service in a senior position
