The Africa Centre for Open Governance (AfriCOG) is an
independent, non-profit making organisation with a mandate to
provide cutting edge research on governance and public ethics issues and,
monitor governance fundamentals in both the government and the private
sector.
AfriCOG is seeking to recruit a high calibre, results oriented,
experienced and highly skilled professional for the position ofDeputy Executive Director to coordinate and
support Programs, Finance and Administration functions.
The role
Reporting to the Executive Director, the jobholder will play a
key role in the development and implementation of the AfriCOG’s strategic plans
and policies.
S/he will provide leadership and direction to the programmes,
finance and administration staff.
The job holder will provide guidance on research, fundraising,
donor management, business development, and partnership activities.
The individual will also be responsible for developing and
applying learning, monitoring and evaluation criteria to better measure the
effectiveness and outcomes of AfriCOG’s projects.
The person
This position requires a Master’s degree in social sciences,
law, economics or equivalent with at least eight (8) years experience in a
similar position in an NGO set up with exposure to the civil society sector.
In addition, the individual must demonstrate a genuine interest
in the civil society sector with experience in partnership building, advocacy
and networking.
Ability to manage several simultaneous projects in a fast-paced
environment and experience in research, proposal development, resource
mobilization and programme management is critical for this role.
