Term Fellowship Program in Continuous Quality Improvement
The University of Nairobi
(UoN) in collaboration with the University of Washington (UW) through the
support of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is
implementing an innovative program to build capacity for leadership and
management of Health Programs in Kenya.
The purpose of the Fellowship
is to build institutional capacity through training individuals in Continuous
Quality Improvement (CQI).
The training will be 6 months
in duration (2 months in class and 4 months at source institution) hence the
fellowship will be modular and work-based in nature, allowing trainees to
undertake the Fellowship while they continue with their employment.
Fellows will participate in
several didactic courses lasting 1-2 weeks at specific intervals over the
course of the Fellowship.
Each fellow will implement a
hands-on, problem-based, project related to Continuous Quality Improvement.
The selected projects should
address existing institutional gaps and challenges, be based on institutional
priorities, and selected with knowledge and involvement of management.
The Medium-term Fellowship
program will commence on 02 April 2013
Selection
Criteria:

Relevant Bachelors degree
·
Familiarity with the Kenya health care system and HIV/AIDS
programs will be an added advantage.
·
Interest in applying CQI in health will be an added advantage
·
Be currently employed in a health program

letter, Curriculum Vitae and a scanned endorsement letter bearing the
institutional stamp and signed by a senior member of the applicants program.
The training will be carried
out at the University of Nairobi Institute of Tropical and Infectious Diseases,
College of Health Sciences, (KNH Complex) and will be offered free of charge.
Limited facilitation will be
given for incidentals.
