Planned Parenthood
Global (PP Global) is the international division of Planned Parenthood
Federation of America (PPFA), an international nongovernmental organization
working in the field of sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and rights.
All positions will be
based in Nairobi, Kenya.
Program Officer - Service Delivery
2 Positions
Under the direction of
a Senior Program Officer, Program Officers will provide technical assistance
and manage grants for service delivery projects implemented by PPFA partners in
Kenya.
Applicants must have a
bachelor’s degree in public health, sociology, anthropology, international development or related
field.
A master’s degree will
be an added advantage.
Program Officer - Advocacy
1 Position
Under the direction of
a Senior Program Officer, the Program Officer will provide technical assistance
and manage grants for advocacy projects to support sexual and reproductive
health (SRH) services implemented by PPFA partners in Kenya.
Applicants must have a
bachelor’s degree in sociology,
women’s health, international development, anthropology, public health or
related field.
A master’s degree will
be an added advantage.
Duties & Responsibilities - Program Officers
- Works
with partners to develop project implementation plans and budgets.
- Works
with partners to identity and address training and technical assistance
needs to ensure programmatic, organizational and financial strengthening.
- Works
with partners to develop and implement M&E plans and tools; monitor
programmatic and financial performance of assigned projects through site
visits, review and analysis of programmatic and financial reports.
- Works
with PPFA regional and HQ staff on country, regional and division level
M&E projects
- Writes
program reports and proposals
- Writes
articles and abstracts for publication and present at conferences
- Completes
special projects as assigned and required.
Experience: Minimum of three years
continuous expenence managing SRH projects. Hands-on expenence working directly
with local community organizations in implementing SRH service delivery
projects. NGO experience in multi-sector programs and working with government
agencies in Kenya is essential.
Senior Program Officer - Communications and Proposal Writing
Reporting to the
Regional Director, the Senior Program Officer will facilitate the development
and implementation of a communications strategy for PPFA in Africa.
The candidate will
also be responsible for proposal writing.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develops
materials for various media on sexual and reproductive health and rights
(SRHR).
- Develops
media lists and cultivating relationships with media outlet, other NGOs
and key stakeholders in the field of SRHR to raise visibility and
knowledge and public relations.
- Writes
articles and abstracts for publication in academic journals and
presentation at professional conferences.
- Identifies
and facilitates appropriate training and technical support for partners on
communications for program learning and visibility.
- Completes
special projects as assigned and required.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in
communications and master’s degree in public policy, public health,
international health, or related field. Strong background in reproductive
health services and rights issues is strongly preferred.
Experience: Minimum five years in strategic communications planning and
producing materials, preferably in the health sector and a minimum of three
years experience in proposal writing. NGO experience in multi-sector programs
is essential.
Senior Program Officer -
Advocacy / Policy
Reporting to the
Regional Director, the Senior Program Officer, Advocacy / Policy will provide
leadership and guidance to partners in the development and implementation of
effective advocacy strategies towards an enabling environment that promotes
access to sexual and reproductive health and rights.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develops
cohesive and proactive country specific advocacy goals for SRHR
- Provides
technical assistance to partners on implementation of advocacy strategies
- Provides
regular analysis of advocacy strategies and activities to ensure relevance
and effectiveness.
- Serves
as one of ARO liaison with government and non-governmental agencies,
donors and other stakeholders on advocacy issues.
- Collaborates
with others to prepare reports, induding donor reports, concept papers and
proposals.
- Writes
articles and abstracts for publication and presentation at conferences
- Completes
special projects as assigned and required.
Education: Law degree and a
master’s degree in international human rights, public health, international
development or related field. NGO experience in multi-sector programs is
essential.
Experience: Minimum seven years managing legal or
human rights programs. Knowledge of reproductive health issues and/or community
development, specifically in developing countries, is required.

- Strong
knowledge of reproductive health and rights issues.
- Ability
to travel a minimum of the 35% time.
