Reporting and Communications Manager Job in Nairobi Kenya


ACF International is a non-governmental, non-profit, non-political and non-religious organization. With 30 years of expertise in emergency situations of conflict, natural disaster, and chronic food insecurity, ACF runs life-saving programs in some 40 countries benefiting five million people each year. 

ACF International has been conducting humanitarian programs in Somalia since May 1992. 

At present, ACF’s humanitarian interventions in Somalia are focused on Nutrition, Health, Water & Sanitation and Livelihoods. 

We are currently looking for a suitable candidate to fill the position of Reporting and Communications Manager to be based in Nairobi with travel to Somalia.

The Reporting and Communications Manager will be responsible for drafting and compiling of proposals, donor reports and dissemination of project results and findings. 

Reporting to the Country Director, S/he will ensure all budgets and reports are pertinent, well edited, and contextualised. 

S/he will be required to oversee the implementation of the communication strategy, supervise and manage the design, production and dissemination of all project related documents (Best practices and lessons learnt, technical reports, posters, leaflets, video or audio documentaries etc.), and ensure that all documents written for external communication purpose are suitable for publication. 

The job holder will also be required to assist the Country Director to maintain active networking and cooperative relationships with key stakeholders, donors, and Government counterparts, members of the NGO community and representatives of ACF International member organizations.

Who we are looking for: 
  • A highly motivated and qualified individual with 3 years humanitarian experience and a relevant Degree in either the field of; social science /management /economics /development/ business administration, journalism or related field. 
  • S/he will have excellent computer skills (word/excel/power point/publisher/acrobat) and experience using and updating databases. 
  • S/he must have proven experience and skills in proposal writing and budget development, presentation, editing and ability to publish documents. 
  • Able to set own deadlines and meet them consistently. 
  • S/he must be fluent in both written and oral communication in English. 
  • Knowledge of Somali language is desirable.
