ACTED (Agency for Technical Cooperation and Development) is a
non-governmental organization created in 1993. Independent, private and
not-for-profit, ACTED respects a strict political and religious impartiality
and operates according to non-discrimination and transparency principles.
The programmes implemented by ACTED in Africa, Asia, Middle East
and Latin America/Caribbean, aim at addressing the needs of the populations
affected by wars, natural catastrophes and/or economical and social crises.
ACTED has been present in Uganda since 2007, and currently implements
its interventions in Gulu, Amuru and Oyam (Acholi and Lango regions) as well as
in ‘Nakapiripirit (Karamoja region) where the organization works on a
cross-border basis with North Pokot, Central and West Pokot Districts of Kenya
and Turkana.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible
for full documentation of all IN and OUT of goods;
- Create
proper filing prior to reception of items;
- Receive
goods and services while ensuring that appropriate documents are present;
- Keep
records of all reports
- Follow
up on the delivery of the contracted material from the supplier to field
office;
- Ensure
all necessary paperwork for transport and delivery of goods are filled;
- Ensure
that all procured material/items for field office are well documented and
are registered in the stock;
- Maintain
and update the inventory follow up every time something goes into or out
of the stock;
- Maintain
a proper documentation every time something goes into or out of the stock;
- Maintain
a tagging system for all the equipment/materials in the field office;
- Issue
fuel from the store and ensure proper documentation are field first.
- Ensure
that all the premises are equipped with the necessary utilities (cleaning,
energy, fuel).
- Undertake
purchases;
- Ensure
that ACTED’s logistic procedures and policies are well respected;
- Assist
Fleet Manager in managing ACTED fleet and drivers based at the field
office;
- Manage
the fuel system;
- Report
regularly to the Area Logistics Officer and Base manager.
- Any
other duty assigned by the direct supervisor
Qualifications Required
- Academic
background: Degree in Purchasing or Supply/Logistics;
- Working
language: Excellent communication skills;
- Computer
knowledge: Computer literacy is a MUST
- Professional
experience: At least 2 years work experience in the logistics
