The Company
Del Monte Kenya Limited located in Thika – Kenya is a leading producer, marketer and distributor of premium quality foods, fresh and processed pineapple fruit and fruit juice beverages.
Position: Buyer
i) The Job
Reports to the Head of Purchasing.
ii) Key Result Areas
- Ensuring
that the Company requirements are procured at the right time, right price,
right quantity/quality.
- Identifying
potential vendor requirements, both locally and internationally.
- Negotiating
best prices, payment terms and lead times.
- Placing
orders and expediting deliveries.
- Creation
and maintenance of local Oracle numbers Database to ensure smooth
processing of foreign Purchase Orders.
- Advising
users on cheaper alternatives while maintaining quality.
- Follow
up on Customs clearance and delivery of imported goods.
iii) The Person
The ideal candidate should meet the following requirements:-
- Aged
between 25 to 35.
- Diploma
in Purchasing and Supplies Management.
- At
least 2 years of relevant experience.
- One
should be able to work under highly stressful conditions.
- Must
be capable of working independently, without close supervision and meet
strict deadlines.
- Must
be a team player.
