Base Titanium Limited, the Kenyan subsidiary of the Australian company, Base Resources Limited, is developing the globally significant Kwale Mineral Sands Project about 50km south of Mombasa. 

The project is now funded and construction commenced in the 3rd quarter of 2011 . 

Production is scheduled to start during the second half of 2013.

Maintenance Planner Fixed Plant Ref: (HRMP/1)

Role purpose and scope
  • Assisting in the development, implementation and provide oversight for all aspects of the fixed plant maintenance planning systems and processes that are required to contribute to the management of the financial, planning, scheduling and strategic direction of the Maintenance Department at Kwale and Likoni
  • Provision of timely preparation, cost efficient and achievable maintenance work plans for Fixed Plant work teams.
  • To provide accurate reporting on completed work plans and assist with budgeting process.
Essential Requirements for this position:
  • Qualifications in a Mechanical related discipline.
  • Candidates need to be able to demonstrate an appropriate level of experience in planning and/or engineering in the mining/concentrating industry, or in a specialist area appropriate to the role is necessary.
  • Previous planning/scheduling experience in a medium-large scale mineral concentrating environment.
Desirable Skill, Knowledge, Training, and Experience:
  • Trade and/or engineering qualifications in a related discipline.
  • Experience in RCM and/or RCA program.
  • Familiar with computer managed maintenance systems (CMMS), preferably Pronto
  • Experience in maintenance planning for maintenance oriented engineering teams
  • Previous contract management experience.
Maintenance Planner Technical Support Coordinator (TSC) Ref: HRMP/2

Role purpose and scope
  • Assisting in the development, implementation and provide oversight for all aspects of the Technical Support Coordination, systems and processes that are required to contribute to the management of the Maintenance Department at Kwale and Likoni.
  • Provision of timely, achievable and accurate reporting on completed schedules and logistics.
  • Assist with the planning process, through administrative support to the planning team, and logistical support via the planning team for HME, E&l and FP supervisors.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with Warehousing and Logistics groups.
Essential Requirements for this position:
  • Qualifications in a Mechanical and/or engineering and/or logistics related discipline.
  • Candidates need to be able to demonstrate an appropriate level of experience in administrative support, stores and logistics in an engineering and/or mining/concentrating industry, and/or within a specialty area.
Desirable Skill, Knowledge, Training, and Experience:
  • Trade and/or engineering and/or stores/logistics qualifications in a related discipline.
  • Familiar with computer managed maintenance systems (CMMS), preferably Pronto
  • Previous contract management experience.
  • Previous planning/scheduling experience in a medium-large scale mineral concentrating environment and/or willingness to learn.
Maintenance Planner Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Ref: HRMP/3

Role purpose and scope
  • Assist in the development, implementation and oversight for all aspects of the plant maintenance planning systems and processes that are required to contribute to the management of the financial, planning, scheduling and strategic direction of the Maintenance Department at Kwale and Likoni.
  • Provide timely preparation of cost efficient and achievable maintenance work plans for E&l work teams.
  • Provide accurate reporting on completed work plans and assist with budgeting process.
Essential Requirements for this position:
  • Qualifications in an Electrical related discipline.
  • Candidates need to be able to demonstrate an appropriate level of experience in planning and/or engineering in the mining/concentrating industry and/or heavy engineering environment and/or or in a specialist area appropriate to the role are necessary.
  • Must be computer literate, and have knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems.
Desirable Skill, Knowledge, Training, and Experience:
  • Trade and/or engineering qualifications in a related discipline.
  • Experience in RCM and/or RCA program.
  • Familiar with computer managed maintenance systems (CMMS), preferably Pronto
  • Experience in maintenance planning for maintenance oriented engineering teams
  • Previous contract management experience.
  • Previous planning/scheduling experience in a medium-large scale mineral concentrating environment.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office, MS Projects and Pronto.
Maintenance Planner Mobile Equipment (HME) Ref HRMP/4

Role purpose and scope
  • Assist in the development, implementation and provide oversight for all aspects of the Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) maintenance planning systems and processes that are required to contribute to the management of the financial, planning, scheduling and strategic direction of the Maintenance Department at Kwale and Likoni.
  • Provision of timely preparation, cost efficient and achievable maintenance work plans for Mobile Plant work teams.
  • Provide accurate reporting on completed work plans and assist with budgeting process.
Essential Requirements for this position:
  • Qualifications in a Mechanical related discipline.
  • Candidates need to be able to demonstrate an appropriate level of experience in planning and/or engineering in the mining/concentrating industry, with an emphasis in the heavy mobile equipment area, and/or in a specialty area (e.g. vendor experience for HME).
Desirable Skill, Knowledge, Training, and Experience:
  • Trade and/or engineering qualifications in a related discipline.
  • Experience in RCM and/or RCA program.
  • Familiar with computer managed maintenance systems (CMMS), preferably Pronto
