Precious Sisters is a registered UK Charity formed in 2006 with the aim of supporting the education of girls in Kenya. 

The Charity supports girls from humble backgrounds where families cannot afford to pay school fees. 

The Charity has grown steadily in line with its financial and resource base capability and will continue to expand. It currently sponsors 70 secondary school girls.

Precious Sisters is seeking to recruit an experienced individual with broad skills to fill the position of
Programme Manager to be responsible for managing the operational and administrative aspects of the
Charity in Kenya. 

The Manager will report to The Board of Trustees; with a local reporting relationship to a Kenyan based trustee.

Key Responsibilities:
  • General management and coordination of all the activities of Precious Sisters in Kenya;
  • Coordinating the application and selection process of girls to be sponsored in selected schools;
  • Liaising with the school head teachers and administrators;
  • Planning and running mentoring weekends, and visiting and mentoring the girls each term;
  • Managing the resources, assets and budgets of the Charity including funds;
  • Managing external relations and supporting the Charity in fund raising activities;
  • Communicating with Trustees most of whom are not based in Kenya; and
  • Preparing reports on the Charity’s activities as required.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field with at least 5 years’ work experience preferably in a not-for-profit organization;
  • Experience in areas of education, development, counseling and mentoring of young people;
  • Previous experience working closely with teenage girls, as well as school heads and administrators;
  • Good management and administrative skills;
  • Self drive and confidence; and
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
