SPAF seeks to improve the welfare of vulnerable by advocating for and promoting social protection in Kenya at national, regional and international levels as well as enhancing synergy among other actors towards the same goal.

 

Executive Director

Location: Nairobi
Reports To: SPAF Board

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will be responsible for overall management and operation of the Social Protection Actors Forum and protection of the organizations financial assets while ensuring compliance with board directives and applicable donor and governments requirements.

To perform effectively in this position, the individual should demonstrate the following key competencies:
  • Job Knowledge: Understands the technical aspects of managing a non-profit organization
  • Understands the duties and responsibilities of the position and keeps job knowledge up to date.
  • Understand the advocacy and legal obligations, mission of the organization and continuously work to promote SPAF and achieve its goals.
  • Dependability: Seeks increased responsibility while remaining conscientious, thorough, accurate and reliable with respect to achieving the organization’s goals, the needs of the donors, government and staff. This includes being available and responsive to issues and concerns as they arise.
Program Officer - Advocacy

Location: Nairobi (with travel within the region)
Reports To: Executive Director

Job Summary:

The incumbent will be responsible for facilitating and creating social protection interventions to promote the welfare of the vulnerable among them the elderly, OVC, persons with disabilities and the poor. 

These programme and advocacy interventions are geared towards influencing policies, systems and structures and practice of government, development agencies and NGOs to improve the welfare of vulnerable groups.

  • Strong networking skills in an intercultural setting ( cross cultural sensitivity)
  • Critical thinking – using logic reasoning to identify the strengths and weakness of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
