Industry Manager
Job Summary:
Use your industry experience, domain expertise, relationship and
leadership skills to work with clients in any of our five super‐industries; Education & Health,
Government, Mapping, Defense & Public Safety, Natural Resources and Transportation &
Utilities, to increase Esri Eastern Africa’s footprint with prominent and
repeatable enterprise and custom‐build ArcGIS solutions.

- Develop
an industry plan and successfully executing marketing and sales strategies
to grow sales and ArcGIS technology footprint in the industry.
- Manage
key accounts in the industry by developing strategic account plans and
successfully executing account strategies to close business and strengthen
business relationships with the key accounts.
- Constitute,
guide and support an account team to understand client requirements,
formulate appropriate and repeatable enterprise and custom‐build GIS solutions to ensure customer
success.
- Prepare
action plans for the Account Executive(s) for effective search of sales
leads and prospects within existing and new accounts to close business and
attain industry’s revenue targets.
- Consistently
use the Esri Eastern Africa sales process and salesforce.com
implementation to manage the industry’s sales pipeline and prepare and
present monthly revenue forecast and performance.
- Foster
executive engagement with C‐level managers in key accounts in the industry
to build a comprehensive and long‐term vision for the use of geospatial
technology.
- Be
a leader of the user community in the industry by providing leadership and
guidance as the community’s trusted advisor.
- Execute
industry marketing campaigns through industry seminars & sessions,
industry web pages, adverts, emails, direct mail, newsletter etc.
- Work
with relevant Esri partners to scope and offer complete GIS solutions
consisting of ArcGIS and partner solutions.
- Build
successful client reference sites to showcase benefits of Esri EA’s
solutions in support of clients business processes and document this
success as case studies.
- Maintain
excellent industry knowledge and domain expertise and stay abreast with
geospatial technology development and industry application.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s
or Master’s Degree in Geomatics, Geography, Computer Science, or a related
discipline from a reputed university.
- Minimum
5 years of successful sales and account management experience in selling
GIS or ICT solutions with at least 3 years focusing on selling enterprise
solutions.
- Extensive
work experience and strong existing networks in any of the five super‐industries named above will offer a distinct
advantage.
- Excellent
writing, communication and presentation skills with an ability to work in
interdisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency
in the use of Internet, e‐mail, office productivity and business
intelligence software.
- A
minimum of two year’s exposure to ArcGIS and other geospatial
technologies.
- Strong
understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
- Proven
leadership and ability to build and drive sales teams.
