Human Resource and Administration Manager Job in Nairobi Kenya

Heifer International Kenya seeks a Human Resource and Administration manager responsible for overseeing the Country Offices’ Human Resource issues, developing human resources policies, and monitoring staff morale to ensure that Heifer Kenya remains a competitive employer. 

Further, the position holder is the custodian of administrative policies and operating procedures, which include: contracting goods and services, contracting temporary staff and consultants, and travel-related procurement.
 
Responsibilities and functions include, but not limited to:
  • Manage personnel recruitment process in order to ensure that Heifer Kenya attracts and employs staff of the highest calibre on the labour market.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to other management staff in personnel development, individual training, mentoring and coaching in order to improve staff performance, motivation and morale.
  • Provide support to other managers in technical areas such as preparation of job descriptions, advertisements of vacancies and interview of candidates in order to ensure quality, transparency and fairness in personnel management.
  • Implement a performance appraisal system developed by Heifer International.
  • Assist in termination of contracts, conduct exit interviews and ensure that all proper procedures are followed at the end of contractual relationships with staff.
  • Monitor local labour market conditions in Kenya and regionally and make appropriate recommendations to Management.
  • Conduct periodic surveys of compensation packages and advise on all issues related to remuneration of staff.
This position requires:
  • Bachelor’s degree plus five (5) years of related experience
  • Excellent qualities in management, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of the non-profit sector with awareness of the context in which non-profit organizations operate.
  • Strong organizational skills, motivational approaches, mentorship and team building
  • Skills on strategic thinking and analysis,
