Outline of Role:
The Project Assistant will assist in the daily implementation of the PMNH+ Project in the Kitale office or in the field sites as needed. This position reports directly to the PMNH+ Project Director.
The four-year PMNH+ project seeks to improve maternal and neonatal health outcomes in Marakwet County by creating a comprehensive continuum of services from households to hospitals, through the establishment of 8 model facilities and 20 new teams of community health workers.

PMNH+ will also generate evidence of the effectiveness of task
shifting a package of MNC services to community health workers at the facility
and community levels in improving MNH outcomes.
Responsibilities and Duties:

- Maintain
accurate filing system of all project documents
- Assist
in coordination of logistics and procurement
- Organize
program events including launch, meetings, trainings
- Regularly
update list of PMNH+ resources (training manuals, CDs, reference
materials)
- Record
and type meeting minutes in the field and office
- Prepare
project materials such as training certificates and IEC materials
- Provide
translation for non-Marakwet staff, when required
- Assist
in field visits and other program activities upon request of Program staff
- Assist
in arrangements for travel by field staff or visitors

The employee may also receive a document stating program
priorities and expected achievements for specific projects during the initial
six months of employment and thereafter.
Required Experience:
Required Experience:
- Certificate
in a relevant health or development field
- 2
years experience working for an international or Kenyan NGO
- Prior
experience working or living in Marakwet
Required Skills:
- Excellent
communication skills
- Demonstrated
creativity and flexibility in problem-solving.
- Ability
to work independently
- Proficiency
in MS Word, Excel and Outlook required
