Monitoring & Evaluations Manager - Safe
Job Purpose
Provide management of the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) components of the regional Solutions for African Food Enterprises (SAFE) program, which will operate in Kenya, Malawi and Zambia, with potential to expand to other countries.
The Regional M&E Manager will work closely with the SAFE Program Director, other program and country management, as well as TechnoServe’s East Africa regional M&E Manager.
S/he will be responsible for enabling evidence-based
decisionmaking processes by program leadership, timely development of SAFE
M&E systems, effective implementation of SAFE M&E activities and
reporting on SAFE M&E results.
Minimum Requirements
- Degree
qualifications in business, economics, statistics or international
development-related studies required;
- At
least 5 years of experience with M&E methods and approaches, including
designing, planning, and implementing M&E systems, analyzing and
reporting using a logical framework and other strategic planning
approaches;
- Strong
interpersonal and management skills required;
- Excellent
oral and written communication skills with fluency in English;
- Ability
to develop well written, cohesive analyses and reports;
- Strong
analytical, program management, and financial analysis skills;
- Personnel
management experience required;
- International
development experience, entrepreneurship skills, and experience working
with youth training and/or mentorship programs preferred;
- Willingness
to be based in Nairobi, ability to travel internationally, and ability to
travel to remote rural locations in East Africa.
Senior Business Advisor - Safe
Job Purpose
To support the business component of the capacity building needs of Kenyan food processors.
The SBA is responsible for assisting processors with customized
business planning, investment plans, capital raising, overseeing market
studies, developing customized processor marketing strategies, business
operations, and provision of other business advisory services.
Minimum Requirements
- Degree
qualifications in business-related studies;
- Minimum
of five years experience with financial, business development and/or
economic or financial analysis in the private sector;
- Strong
financial analysis and project management skills;
- Personnel
management experience required;
- Experience
in financial auditing, business diagnostics, business ratios, business
plan development, conducting profit and loss analysis, loan requirements
and loan management;
- Strong
presentation skills and ability to advise and coach senior company
representatives on business capacity building needs and advice;
- Excellent
interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with ability to
develop well-written, cohesive analyses and reports; Fluency in English
and Kiswahili required;
- Track
record of building strong client and stakeholder relationships;
- Ability
to generate innovative solutions in work situations;
- Proven
ability and experience working with teams will be an added advantage.
- Willingness
to be based in Nairobi, ability to travel internationally and to remote
rural locations.
Project Accountant - Safe
Job Purpose
Provide overall financial and administrative management of the regional SAFE project.
The Accountant will work closely with respective program and
country management, as well as TechnoServe’s East Africa and Southern Africa
regional teams and headquarters’ finance team.
S/he will be responsible for financial planning and oversight,
accurate financial reporting and analysis, and ensuring compliance with organization
and donor requirements.
Minimum Requirement
- Degree
qualifications in business, finance, or economic-related studies required;
- CPA
(K) or equivalent.
- Minimum
5 years experience in mainstream accounting, 3 of which must be with an
NGO
- Strong
financial management and analysis skills;
- Personnel
management experience with a good understanding of the local legal, labor,
procurement, and general human resource laws and policies;
- Excellent
interpersonal and oral and written communication skills a must, Fluent in
English;
- Experience
with international donors requiring high-levels of reporting data, USAID
project experience preferred;
- Ability
to contribute to the development of detailed financial reports;
- Proven
ability and experience working with teams will be an added advantage;
- Ability
to generate innovative solutions in work situations; trying different and
novel ways to deal with work problems and opportunities;
- Ability
to establish a course of action to ensure that work is completed effectively
and efficiently to deliver high-quality and on-time results;
- Willingness
to be based in Nairobi, ability to travel internationally, and ability to
travel to remote rural locations.
Assistant Regional Capacity Building Advisor - Stryde
Job Purpose
Strengthening Rural Youth Development through Enterprise (STRYDE) program operates in Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda with a goal of training 15,000 rural youth to increase their productive economic engagement.
The Assistant Regional Capacity Building Advisor will be
responsible for supporting the STRYDE Regional Training and Capacity Building
Manager as well as the country program teams in training and capacity building
related tasks.
Minimum Requirement
- Degree
in relevant field with at least of 3 years experience in a role that
involves training/capacity building
- Experience
facilitating/delivering training curricula to a variety of audiences.
- Excellent
computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong
interpersonal and cross cultural skills
- Excellent
communication skills required
- Ability
to communicate effectively across a range of seniority levels
- Ability
to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness
to be based in Nairobi, ability to travel internationally, and ability to
travel to remote rural locations.
