Terre des hommes Foundation (Tdh) is an international NGO
focussed on Child Rights. To support the development of its WASH programme in
Lagdera District, Tdh is encouraging applications from Kenyan nationals for the
role of:
WASH Sensitization Supervisor
Reporting to: WASH Project Manager
Duty station: Modogashe (Lagdera district, Garissa county)
Contract duration: 14 months (with 3-month probation period)
Main responsibilities:
- Daily
organisation and supervision of the sensitization officers and of Hygiene
promotion activities on sites.
- Ensures
the wash sensitization officers have a clear understanding of the Tdh WASH
mandate and project in Lagdera district.
- Ensures
that the sensitization activities are appropriately proposed, implemented,
monitored and evaluated, when deemed necessary, amendments to the WASH
strategy, in consultation with the WASH PM and the Monitoring and
Evaluation Expert.
- Conducts
regular assessment of the WASH sensitization implementation and
activities’ impacts.
- In
collaboration with the WASH PM forecasts and follows up on expenditures
related to the WASH project including the preparation of cash advance
requests on a monthly basis and the correct use of the admin forms.
- In
collaboration with the WASH PM and M&E expert, participates in
designing strategies and objectives for improved support to beneficiaries
and contribute actively in its monitoring, evaluation and revision.
- Guarantees
that the work plan of sensitization activities is implemented, effectively
and timely, with relevant authorities and water committees according to
the project planning
- Organizes,
supervise and monitor each stage of implementation for sensitization
activities
- In
a participatory manner identifies, mobilizes and trains community members
and other actors to encourage their participation in different aspects of
the project implementation and development.
Requirements:
- Bachelor
Degree or Diploma in Public Health or related subjects
- At
least 3 years’ field experience working with government or NGOs in WASH
sector
- Fluent
in English, Swahili and Somali
- Working
knowledge of MS Word, Excel, email system.
- Capable
of working in remote places
- Experience
in hygiene promotion activities
- Experience
with management of staff
WASH Monitoring and Evaluation Expert
Reporting to: WASH Project Manager
Duty station: Modogashe (Lagdera district, Garissa county)
Contract duration: 14 months (with 3-month probation period)
Main responsibilities:
- Develops,
implement and monitor the WASH project in Lagdera district, in accordance
with multiple objectives, activities and targets outlined within current
donor proposals and in line with projects’ budgets.
- Organises
and conduct weekly assessments of the WASH project and activities’
impacts
- Ensures
that activities are appropriately proposed, when deemed necessary,
amendments to the WASH strategy, in consultation with the WASH PM.
- In
collaboration with the WASH PM, participates in designing strategies and
objectives for improved support to beneficiaries and contribute actively
in its monitoring, evaluation and revision.
- Develops
or improve already existing tools to improve the WASH sensitization
activities.
- Develops
or improve already existing tools to improve the monitoring of WASH
structures.
- Participates
in the capacity building support to the Water Committees Associations,
WASH committees, schools teachers and other relevant local authorities and
community groups, as required by the project.
- Participates
in the development of database tools and supervises field testing of the
tools
- In
a participatory manner identifies, mobilizes and trains community members
and other actors to encourage their participation in different aspects of
the project implementation and development.
Requirements:

subjects
- At
least 3 years’ field experience working with government or NGOs in WASH
sector
- Fluent
in English, Swahili and Somali
- Working
knowledge of MS Word, Excel, email system.
- Capable
of working in remote places
- Knowledge
of the NGO cycle project.
- Knowledge
of the community culture and context in the Lagdera District
- Experience
in data base collection and reporting
