The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation is a global leader in the fight against pediatric HIV and AIDS. 

We are working in 15 countries around the world to provide HIV prevention, care, and treatment services for children, women, and families—with a mission to eliminate pediatric AIDS.

EGPAF in Kenya is currently looking to recruit for the following 3 positions in support of the Global Steering Group (GSG):

Communication and Networking Officer
  • Reporting to the GSG Director, you will develop communication and advocacy strategies and carry out
  • communications activities to promote and disseminate information about implementation of the Global Plan.
  • You will support communication among GSG members as well as with relevant external stakeholders (e.g. the GSG Secretariat, GSG focal points, GSG work- streams, the Inter Agency Technical Team).
  • You will support production of meeting reports including the Annual Global Plan progress, workshops organized by the GSG Secretariat and facilitate or directly prepare the translation of select GSG-related materials into other relevant languages (English, French, Portuguese)
  • You will Provide technical support on communications and advocacy to Global Plan priority countries and, with the M&E Technical Advisor, support countries to document their experiences in overcoming key barriers to eMTCT in various formats including case studies, newsletters, etc.
  • You will regularly liaise with the media as Communications Focal Point for the GSG secretariat, including thorough management of press and other media inquiries , in addition to developing and maintaining relationships with key local, regional and international media houses to leverage and maximize opportunities for promoting and publicizing GSG activities.
To be successful in this role you will be a holder of:-
  • University degree in communications or related field such as external relations, information management and journalism. Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years working experience in communications, networking and media relations with previous experience in managing websites, list-serves, conducting workshops, and managing office publications.
  • Good knowledge on using computers, communication technology and networking software.
  • Fluency in written and oral English required; fluency in written and oral French strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years work experience with international organizations will be desirable.
M&E Technical Advisor

Reporting to the GSG Director, you will support the leadership of the Global Steering Group (GSG) by producing and providing information that will enhance their understanding of the key technical, programmatic and policy issues affecting the implementation of the Global Plan.
  • You will identify opportunities for leveraging and advancing the Global Plan agenda at country and regional/international levels, determining priorities for action and contributing to packaging of information for advocacy.
  • You will ensure that complex information from a range of sources is appropriately analyzed and interpreted for use at operational and strategic .
  • You will develop and maintain the Global Plan dashboard as a management tool to monitor implementation of the Global Plan at country level.
  • You will support country technical and advocacy missions and promote knowledge sharing by supporting GSG focal points to document their experiences in overcoming key barriers to elimination of mother-to-child HIV transmission.
To be successful in this role you will be a holder of:-
  • Masters’ degree in public health. A bias towards epidemiology preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years relevant experience in public health, experience in monitoring and evaluation of HIV programs strongly preferred
  • Strong research and epidemiological skills, including a background in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
  • Demonstrated experience with developing and using M&E tools
  • Ability to develop effective working relationship with government entities and other partners
  • Demonstrated ability to publish in peer reviewed journals
  • Fluency in written and oral English required; fluency in written and oral French is an added advantage
Executive Administrative Assistant

Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Director of the Global Steering Group (GSG) in Nairobi, the Executive Administrative Assistant will provide secretarial, administrative and logistical assistance to the Director and other professional staff within the GSG secretariat.

You will ensure efficient day-to-day running of the secretariat, facilitating information flow in the office, ensuring that all correspondences to the GSG director’s office are managed efficiently.
 
You will manage, coordinate and maintain the calendar of meetings and activities of the Office, prepare and follow up on processing of Project related travel requisitions and claims.

You will offer ICT support by working closely with ICT manager for installation and maintenance of local and wide area networks, managing video and teleconferencing and recording all conference calls to support writing of minutes. 

Help in installing and maintaining the ICT infrastructure and perform troubleshooting To be successful in this role you will be a holder of:-
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology. Business administration
  • A Diploma in Operations Management or Office Management will be an added advantage
  • At least 3 years’ experience in working as an executive assistant to Chief executive officer
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in administrative/ICT support functions in a busy office.
  • Knowledge of records management, general administrative procedures
  • At least 2 years’ experience in handling of Web Based Managements systems and website management
  • Good writing and communications skills
