Principle Responsibilities & Position Purpose:
 

Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for managing operations of all Food & Beverage outlets to deliver an excellent guest and member experience while training team members and working within budgeted guidelines.

Essential Functions:

Specifically, the successful candidate will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
  • Manage all Food & Beverage Outlet operations.
  • Maintain exceptional levels of customer service.
  • Ensure compliance of brand standards.
  • Recruit, manage, train and develop the F & B team.
  • Work within budgeted guidelines in relation to Food, Liquor Costs and Payroll.
  • Set departmental targets and objectives, work schedules, budgets, and policies and procedures.
  • Develop menus with other members of F & B team.
  • Accountable for monthly stock takes.
  • Incentivise team members to maximize sales and revenue.
  • Carry out annual and mid-year appraisals with Managers under your responsibility.
  • Evaluate guest satisfaction levels with a focus on continuous improvement.
Qualification Standards:
  • Degree in Hotel management or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 7 years experience, 3 years of which must be international experience.
  • Experience in a 5 star hotel setting will be an added advantage.
  • Passion for delivering exceptional levels of guest service.
Specific Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Thorough knowledge of food and beverage operations including foods, beverages, supervisory aspects, service techniques, and guest interaction.
  • Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, with guests and employees, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger and to collect accurate information and to resolve problems.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods.
  • Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.
