Position Description and Objectives
The Datacenter
Solutions team supports a diverse variety of Datacenter solutions like Dell,
HP, VMware, Symantec, Cisco, and Netapp amongst others.Candidate must have an
understanding of Datacenter Hardware Solutions, and have demonstrated skills
deploying solutions in area(s) of specialization.
Major Areas of Responsibility
- Ensuring
that all solution requirements are driven out, captured, and documented.
- Managing
and documenting all risks, issues and dependencies.
- Ensuring
that the requirements are designed using current recommended practices,
and thoroughly detailed and documented.
- Implementing
solution designs in proof of concept, pilot and live production
environments.
- Testing
implementations against the original requirements.
- All
resulting in the delivery of the desired, scalable, secure and highly
available solution that satisfies all requirements.
- Share
knowledge, information and current recommended practices, through
one-to-one and one-to-many workshops and presentations to increase the
knowledge of customers (internal and external).
- Deliver
tasks assigned to self and team members by project manager are completed
on time and efficiently
- Provide
technical support for company’s customers in form of e-mail, phone call,
on-site etc.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Essential):
- An
advanced diploma or degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or
equivalent work experience.
- 2-5
years of experience with various key datacenter hardware solutions.
- Enterprise
infrastructure experience, including in-depth, hands-on knowledge of the
Windows Server, System Center, Hyper-V, VMWare, backup solutions,
firewalls, routers.
- Deep
understanding of all Datacenter Hardware components, including blade
servers, storage solutions, switches, routers, firewalls (Dell, HP,
NetApp, Cisco, amongst others)
