Customer Facing Manager - Supply Chain
(East Africa Region)
Our Client is the world's leading Multinational Company dealing in the manufacturing of consumer based products with over 16 countries within the East African region.
Purpose of the job:
The job holder will be expected to drive innovative and sustainable supply chain solutions, to accelerate commercial success for company and the Customer, that deliver a distinct competitive advantage relative to their key industry rivals by optimising cost to serve and maximizing product availability.
Key Responsibilities will be to;
- Deliver
Supply Chain value creation for the company and the Customer by
understanding Customer KPIs, agree targets with the Customer, and report
regularly against these targets and raise awareness of the Customer's
Supply Chain and its alignment to company’s Supply Chain;
- Drive
cross functional alignment in partnership with Sales and across Supply
Chain, define and lead a common customer strategy and be the coordinator
of multi-functional teams from concept creation to final delivery;
- Work
with Sales team to define joint improvement plans with Customers to
enhance the company's "ability to win", supported by Customer
Facing methodology;
- Be
a Supply Chain ambassador for the company and the Customer to drive
success of On Shelf Availability and highlight the business opportunities
for both the company and the Customer, in creating competitive gaps
through supply chain value creation;
- Focus
collaboration on the top customers jointly identified with Sales;
- Drive
all other Supply Chain Customer efficiency initiatives e.g. Collaborative
Planning, CO2 & Sustainability etc. and represent the company at trade
Supply Chain bodies.
- The
ideal candidate should possess the following minimum skills and
competencies;
- Honors
degree from a recognized university, preferably in the areas of Business
Administration, Bachelor of Commerce procurement and Supply Chain;
- Minimum
3 years’ management experience in Supply Chain/ Sales;
- Experience
leading projects and initiatives in supply chain/ customer sales;
- Experience
in collaborative business projects with the Trade (Retailer, Distributors
etc) and Marketing/ Sales;
- Good
understanding of customer’s business models and commercial impact of
Supply Chain/ Logistics options and decisions;
- Ability
to thrive in a network organization.
