The Adventist
Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) Somalia is an International
Non-Governmental Organization registered in Kenya and operating in Somalia.
ADRA Somalia desires
to hire a qualified and experienced professional to fill the position of Assistant Accountant.
Location: Nairobi with frequent visits to Somalia
Responsibilities:
- Assist
during audit exercise by answering queries, providing some information and
documents.
- Assist
in doing project, administration and bank reconciliations.
- Check
in preparation for project/administration payments from various banks.
- Post
all projects/administration documents.
- Posting
and writing of cheques.
- Ensure
monthly statutory payments, returns and the related reconciliations are
done on time.
- Assist
in preparation of specialized reports to the donor as requested by SA/FD.
- Ensure
compliance with any other statutory requirements such as withholding tax,
HELB.
- Ensure
that payment vouchers bear the necessary requisitions/approval and
supporting documents.
Qualifications/Experience
- Bachelor
degree in Commerce or Business Administration (Accounting option)
- CPA II
or its equivalent.
- Must be
a self starter who requires minimum supervision and ready to work under
pressure
- Knowledge
in Sun plus will be an added advantage
- Have at
least 3 years experience in a busy accounting environment preferably INGO.
- Be
proficient in computerized accounting systems and strong spreadsheet
skills
