Profile Introduction
Reporting to The Company Secretary and Director of Corporate and
Legal Affairs, the Public Relations Communications Manager will be responsible
for planning and implementation of Centum’s communications, investor relations
and brand strategies, both internally & externally.
Minimum Requirements
- An
undergraduate degree in journalism, marketing or Public Relations is
preferred.
- Professional
qualifications in communications/public relations and a member of
recognized professional PR body.
- Over
7 years of PR and Communications work experience
- Experience
working with PR agencies will be an added advantage.
Job Specification- Public Relations and Communications Manager
Responsibilities:
A successful job holder will be expected to deliver on the
following:
- Investor
relations. Design and implement an investor relations strategy that will
enhance Centum’s image;
- Media
relations. Effectively co-ordinate media interest in the organization and
ensure regular contact with target media;
- Brand
strategy- Effectively implement a brand strategy that will enhance our
brand presence in Africa;
- Corporate
Social responsibility- Develop a sustainable CSI strategy geared towards
enhancing investment education and develop an activity plan for the
corporate sponsorships;
- Corporate
Communication. Responsible for editorial direction, design, production and
distribution of all centum publications; internal & external to ensure
effective articulation of Centum’s brand;
- Crisis
and reputation management-design a crisis management system and ensure
continuous testing to confirm effectiveness;
- Developed
and execute online strategies that improve our visibility in the social
media such as search engine optimization, keyword search, search engine
marketing and social media presence.
The successful job holder will:
- Be
an effective leader committed to developing a world class Corporate and
Legal Affairs unit;
- Have
a sound grasp and experience on the legal and regulatory compliance
environment across the region;
- Have
the intellectual capacity and appropriate educational and professional
education and training to handle the complexities of Centum’s business;
- Be
an excellent communicator with the ability to effectively articulate
Centum’s position on issues to a diverse audience both in person and
print;
- Be
calm under pressure, yet robust with the ability to express a clear point
of view on key issues;
- Be
an emotionally intelligent individual with the ability to cultivate and
manage relationships with a globally diverse group of institutions and
individuals.
Competencies
- Demonstrated
successful experience in media lobbying and writing press releases
- Ability
to manage relationship with the media counsel.
