Project Manager Job in Kenya

Project Manager

Financial Services Associations (FSAs) Transformation

Financial Services Associations (FSA5) are membership based financial organisations offering credit, savings and money transaction services to their members.

In Kenya, FSAs have been principally promoted by the K-Rep Group since 1997.

There are now about 80 operating FSAs in various partsof the country.

The primary objective in establishing  the ESA model in Kenya was to significantly push forward the frontier of sustainable financial service provision in more remote geographical areas where mainstream micro-finance institutions (M FIs) and commercial banks were not operating.

K-Rep Fedha Services Ltd (KFS) was established to provide management services and supervision to the FSAs on a commercial basis.

Since 2005, a transformation of the strategy for promotion of the ESA model has been undertaken in two phases through a pilot in Makueni and Kitui regions.

The first phase laid strong foundations for the transformation of the ESA network into a sustainable decentralised financial system while the second was put in place in 2007 to further refine the new ESA model developed in the first phase and roll it out across the wider ESA network.

KFS has received support from a development partner for a final transformation phase (ESA Ill) which is expected to realise transition of the KFS-FSA network into prudential regulation and growth to support operational self-sustainability.

KES is now looking for a dedicated and strong Project Manager to drive this crucial transformation project.
