Applications are invited from suitably qualified individuals to fill the following positions for the East African Cluster, which comprises of Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania and South Sudan. 

The positions will be based in Nairobi, Kenya.
 
Group Chief Finance Officer (GCFO)

The overall responsibilities of the above position will be to manage, direct and implement the financial strategies, objectives, policies, procedures, financial function control environment, reporting and planning for the Group. 

Key performance areas include, but are not limited to:
  • Development of the financial and overall strategy of the Group and shaping the implementation plans
  • Maintaining good financial and MIS systems, processes and procedures
  • Manage the budgeting and monitoring process
  • Developing risk management policies relevant to the Group, updating these as necessary, and ensuring their implementation.
  • Evaluating the tax and fiscal environments and assessing the best fit for the Group’s tax compliance and strategy
  • Ensuring that all Group entities are in compliance with the respective local statutory reporting requirements
  • Ensuring timeliness, consistency and quality of information provided to management and the Board
  • Responsible for overall HR management including recruitment, retention and motivation strategies
Qualifications and Experience
  • A fully qualified Chartered Accountant: CA/ACCA/CIMA. Masters in a related field would be an added advantage.
  • At least 10 years’ continuous relevant experience with at least 4 years executive management experience in banking and financial services
  • Overall high degree of IT literacy
  • Be an outstanding communicator with excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in managing the financial, tax and regulatory aspects of a regional (East Africa) entity will be an added advantage.
  • Must be willing and able to travel regularly.
Group Finance Manager (GFM)

The overall responsibilities of the above position are to manage and report on the finance function of the Group segment. 

Key performance areas include, but are not limited to:
  • Ensuring the financial controls, policies and procedures are adequate, effective and are complied with
  • Ensuring that financial and operational forecasts and budgets are produced to a high level of technical and contextual quality
  • Providing quality management and financial information in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring compliance in all tax matters
  • Ensuring the company’s resources and assets are appropriately safeguarded
  • Annual external audit and financial reporting co-ordination, management, resolution
  • Maintaining relationships with stakeholders, including banks, regulators, external and internal auditors
  • Managing performance and progression of finance team.
Qualifications and Experience
  • A fully qualified Chartered Accountant: CA/ACCA/CIMA. 
  • Masters would be an added advantage.
  • 7 years’ continuous relevant banking or financial services experience with at least 4 years in senior management
  • Good communication, analytical and IT skills
