Our client is seeking to fill the position of Importer
Development Associate (IDA)
This is a position that supports the Regional Business
Development Manager to develop market entry strategies, identify and develop
strategic Importing relationships with business partners and NGO’s and to
support in all business development activities.
Reports to the Regional Business Development Manager
Business Development Associates, all subsidiaries, shipping and
logistics agents and customers
Main Job Responsibilities:
The IDA requires regional travel to defined or prospective
markets and will be responsible for:-
- Achieving
and exceeding THE SET sales and marketing objectives
- Identifying
Importers, liaising with, and influencing NGOs and institutions to
purchase products
- Managing
old and new Importers in selected countries to meet agreed upon sales
objectives
- Implementing
and managing sales, marketing and promotional programs with Importers and
other relevant partnerships;
- Representing
Barefoot Power at international trade fairs and exhibitions, conferences
and workshop
- Conducting
basic training of Importers, Key Partnerships and their staff upon
purchase of products
- Managing
the after sales processes
Experience / Skills:
- A
degree in a related field.
- 5
years proven history of exceeding sales targets and objectives in sales
teams Importers/Distributors, large non-profit organizations and
institutions
- Regional/International
work experience especially within EAC, COMESA and SADC
- Experience
in building, developing, implementing and managing a complex sales
process, sales channels & promotional programs
- Strong
account management skills – building and managing high level customer
relationships
- Exceptional
negotiations and communications (verbal & written) skills,
proposal/concept paper writing a plus
- Ability
to work in a diverse, team-oriented, and multi-cultural work environment
Salary: 150,000 depending on
experience
