Finance Associate

Location: Northern Kenya, Garrissa Office

Position Summary

BRHC seeks to hire a Finance Associate to administer the finance and administration tasks of BRHC Field Office in Garrissa within the APHIAPLUS Imarisha Project. 

This position reports to the Team Lead.

Responsibilities and Tasks
  • Financial and administrative tasks in field offices, including expenses, invoicing, budgeting, advances, bank reconciliations, procurement, auditing, pay roll management, statutory deductions and monthly reporting
  • Review performance of field offices and link performance to financial objectives and targets
  • Financial and operational liaison between field staff and team leads in the central office.
  • Provide field teams with accurate financial information linked to program objectives
  • Manage annual budgets, monthly and quarterly projections and spend reporting
  • Ensure implementation of USAID rules and regulations, partner and BRHC operations at the field office level
  • Communicate regularly Isiolo based Finance Associate, Program Manager and home office Technical Manager
  • Implement administrative procedures to ensure maintenance of staff and financial records
  • Coordinate with home office and vendors to manage staff payroll, tax submissions, and other staff benefits
Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies
  • University degree in Commerce/finance/accounting or in a related field. CPA qualification is an added advantage. MBA preferred
  • Over five (5) years experience in USAID project financial management
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, especially in Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and administrative skills
  • Ability and willingness to work in northern Kenya required
  • Those with working experience in Northern Arid Lands or and are locals of North Eastern Province will have an added advantage
