Sameer Africa Limited, a leading manufacturer and provider of tyres and tyre solutions with offices across Kenya and the COMESA region, has an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and resourceful candidate to fill the above position.
 
Main purpose of the job
 

Leading and managing credit control operations across the Group to ensure prompt collection of accounts receivables, minimization of credit risk and adherence to credit policy.
 
Among others, key accountabilities will include:-
  • Leading and managing the implementation of the Group’s terms of trade and credit policy in line with business objectives.
  • Carrying out periodic reviews of the credit policy and terms of trade in line with the Group’s guidelines and the business environment.
  • Assessing and evaluating credit worthiness of new and existing customers in line with the credit policy.
  • Monitoring customers’ debt levels and credit risk to ensure adherence to the terms of trade.
  • Ensuring that the Group’s accounts receivables are secured to agreed levels through guarantees and other acceptable forms of security.
  • Ensuring customer complaints and queries are resolved to facilitate collections and enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Providing business support to commercial departments while securing the Group against risks of default
  • Analyzing and preparing the accounts receivables reports for decision making.
  • Identifying, recommending and benchmarking for best practices in credit management.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • A Bachelors Degree in Finance/Accounting or a related business field, with a postgraduate qualification in credit management.
  • At least 5 years working experience in credit control.
  • Sound understanding of compliance procedures.
  • A team player with excellent communication skills, negotiation skills, attention to detail, problem solving, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • High standards of ethics and values.
  • Good working knowledge of ERP systems will be an added advantage.
