organization dedicated to universal access to quality reproductive health
services.

Reporting to the Country Representative and collaborating
closely with different program directors, the Communications Advisor is a key
member of project management teams.
S/he is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Pathfinder
internal and external communications including development, design and
dissemination of Pathfinder Kenya written and audiovisual communication
materials.
In charge of the overall communications strategy, s/he will
develop and implement this strategy and manage communications to various
audiences including stakeholders, partners and funders.
S/he will provide communications support to staff working within
projects and ensure that communication products meet standards of Pathfinder
International.
S/he will lead the production of success stories for use on the
Pathfinder website with the support of the Web Content editor at the
Headquarters Office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop,
revise and implement Pathfinder Kenya Communication Strategy targeting
various audiences
- Design
and implement program specific communication strategies that improve the
effectiveness of interventions
- Liaise
with the program teams to secure information and images for the
development of communications materials.
- Collects
material for, documents, writes and disseminate success stories, case
studies and best practices (including associated photographs).
- Design
and implement a media strategy, reach out to media agencies, and monitor
media and internet coverage for the organization.
- Support
the project teams in event organization
- Work
with staff to schedule, coordinate and support their efforts of in
writing, and editing of technical documents, including reports and case
studies.
- Support
project staff in ensuring quality of communication materials and adherence
to branding standards, including USAID branding guidelines.
- Build
the capacity of staff to communicate effectively with external audiences
- Provides
Kenya-related web content, and collaborate with the Web Content Editor in
home office.
- Liaises
with the Senior Technical Communications Advisor at HQ to prepare and
disseminate relevant technical materials.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum
first degree in public relations, journalism and/or communications.
- At
least four years professional communications experience as a
writer/editor, preferably in reproductive health, HIV/AIDS, and/or international
health.
- Experience
in conceptualizing, writing, and editing technical materials, preferably
related to reproductive health, international health, and/or HIV/AIDS.
- Demonstrated
project management and organizational skills and excellent interpersonal
skills
- Ability
to take initiative, to work independently and to work under demanding
deadlines.
- Familiarity
with USAID branding guidelines.
- Demonstrated
skills in desktop Publishing use of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and
Outlook.
- Ability
to work with multi media and social media.
