ICT Officer – Internet Banking

The successful person will report to the Head Card Channels Support in the ICT Department.

Job Summary:

As an ICT Officer – Internet Banking, the role-holder will be responsible for supporting the Internet Banking System to ensure its availability at all times.

Main Duties:

  • Perform system upgrades and patches as required.
  • Handles users queries, resolve and advise
  • Participate in DR implementations and failovers.
  • Liaise with system vendors to resolves system issues
  • Ensure the system complies with international required standards
  • Maintain system security and control user access
  • Make system changes while following the Change Management Process
  • Document the systems configurations and changes
  • Perform testing of new release before deployment
  • Ensure backup is done on a daily basis
  • Respond to business request for system changes
  • Perform housekeeping exercise for the Internet banking System
Job specification:
The incumbent will be required to possess the following qualifications, attributes and skills:
  • Computer Science Degree or Equivalent
  • Worked in a busy computer operations environment for at least three years
  • Must have interacted with an Internet Banking system
  • Be willing to work at night, during week-ends and public holidays
  • Possess excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Have good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Display leadership skills

Relationship Manager – Mortgage Support

The successful person will report to the Head – Mortgage Finance Department.

Job Summary:

As a Relationship Manager – Mortgage Support, the role-holder will be expected to facilitate growth in the mortgage portfolio by ensuring appraisal of all credit facilities for risk identification and management, administration of the Lending Policy and the production of management reports. 

He/She will also be tasked to achieve quality loan portfolio performance through transactional processing and monitoring. 

The role will also minimize risks to the Bank, ensuring that we maintain a ratio of non performing loans below 5%.

Main Duties:
  • Manage the credit appraisal process and participate in the approval within the delegated limits
  • Active participation in the improvement of the credit process and its effectiveness
  • Review and appraise credit applications to ensure compliance with policies and procedures
  • Provide support to the Business Development Team in development of risk related products
  • Ensure the preparation of loan approval documentation and management reports for decision making.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the Credit Team
  • Own the Mortgage Finance products and support the sales team towards meeting the set targets through accurate  robust processing of Mortgage Finance applications
  • Be responsible for maintaining Mortgage Finance Loan records for cases presented for approval
  • Adhere to Coop Bank service standards and deliver world-class customer service to internal and external customers
  • Analysis of the various applications and constituting the lending committee.
  • Follow up with the lawyers in term of registration and charging
  • Ensure the Mortgage Loan application process is adhered to and all the requisite documents are attached
  • Be aware of the Credit Policy and do a ‘diligence’ check, vet the applications and forward/submit only those that merit consideration
  • Ensuring all lending covenants are incorporated in the respective facility letters
  • Evaluating the quality of loans, assigning risk-ratings and ensuring compliance
Job specification:

The incumbent will be required to possess the following qualifications, attributes and skills:
  • Must have a university degree in a relevant field with CPA (K). AKIB/ACIB would be an added advantage
  • At least 6 years experience in general banking or in a financial institution;  4 of which are in a lending function
  • High data rationality, detail consciousness with high analytical and numerical skills
  • Ability to interpret financial and legal documents
  • Excellent Computer skills
  • A good knowledge of the Banking Act
  • A good knowledge of the mortgage market.
