As the company prepares for further exploration and appraisal activities, Tullow Kenya BV is seeking to appoint two new positions.

Communications Officer (Nairobi based)
 
This is a key position within the Corporate Affairs function. 

The successful candidate will be charged with the implementation of Tullow Kenya’s external and internal communications strategy in line with the business strategy.
 
The position will;
  • Assist in the development of key messaging / briefing notes and other supporting materials.
  • Develop corporate publications such as corporate brochures, newsletters, magazines, fact sheets, reports etc.
  • Plan and implement corporate events and exhibitions.
  • Develop and coordinate the company’s advertising related initiatives in liaison with the appointed agencies.
  • Coordinate all corporate sponsorships and donations in line with the agreed process.
  • Execute the internal communications plan.
The ideal candidate will have a University degree, preferably a qualification in mass communication, public relations, business management or marketing with 2-3 years experience in corporate communications. 

Experience in media, event management, sponsorship management and working with advertising agencies is also required. 

Previous experience in major infrastructure or the extractive industry with knowledge of oil and gas would be an added advantage.
 
Community Communications Officer (Field based)
 
This position will be the key site based representative responsible for grassroots communications activities. 

This position will play an important role in ensuring consistency of messaging in support of ongoing engagement activities.
 
The position will;
  • Support the Field Stakeholder Liaison teams by providing meaningful and timely communications collateral / materials in support of ongoing community engagement activities.
  • Manage the day to day operation of site based resource offices, ensuring that appropriate communications materials (fact sheets, maps, reports, visual aids) are available and updated accordingly.
  • Ensure community enquiries and grievances received via local offices are receipted, logged and managed in accordance with agreed Tullow policies and guidelines.
  • Maintain tight control of on-the-ground issues and safeguarding Tullow’s reputation on-the-ground.
  • Liaise and monitor local media in regards to Tullow’s operations and providing feedback to the Corporate Affairs function.
The ideal candidate will have a University degree in mass communication, public relations, business management or marketing with 2-3 years experience in corporate communications. 

Experience in media, event management, sponsorship management and working with communications agencies is also required. 

Previous experience in the extractive industry, knowledge on oil and gas working in the area of operation would be an added advantage.
